  7. The MassDat Library System provides UNIX users with a massive ``near-line''
  8. archival system. It is available in 11 GB and 47 GB models. Up to four drives
  9. provide four cartridge simultaneous interleaved access via SCSI II interface.
  10. Cartridges can be interchanged with 12 cartridge magazines. Random access
  11. format permits sequential and safe disk image backups and restores. Disk images
  12. can be copied to tape and ``mounted'' as disk devices. Images appear as exact
  13. duplicates of the disk drive. Files can be written and read by any software.
  14. Image files can be updated without entire volume rewrite.
